The Lodge
Industrial-chic and mountain-warm, with the best sunset views on the property. The natural heart of the group — long tables, a stone fireplace, and room to host everyone at once.
Three homes, a private sandy beach, and an entire western-facing shoreline on Arbutus Lake — reserved for one group at a time, ten miles from downtown Traverse City.
When you book Lakemore Retreat, you book all of it — The Lodge, The Cottage, and The Cabin, the lawns and fire pits, and a private sandy beach with the whole of Arbutus Lake opening west toward the sunset. There are no other guests, no shared gates, no neighbors at the next dock. Only your people.
Owners Tricia and Dean keep the property the way guests describe it again and again: pristine, personal, and entirely at ease. It feels less like a rental and more like a home that has been waiting for you.
Welcome to the quiet side of the lake.
Each home has its own feel — and together they hold a single gathering, connected by lawn, beach, and the long light off the water. Your group spreads out and comes back together, all within the same fence line.

Industrial-chic and mountain-warm, with the best sunset views on the property. The natural heart of the group — long tables, a stone fireplace, and room to host everyone at once.

A vintage Michigan lake house with every modern comfort quietly tucked in. Screened porches, easy light, and the kind of worn-in charm that makes a week feel like a homecoming.

The quietest of the three — tucked into the trees for rest and slow mornings. The place your group drifts to when the day winds down and the lake goes still.
Bring your team, your circle, or your practice somewhere the phones lose their grip. Gourmet kitchens for shared meals, four-season screened porches for breakout sessions, a game room for the off-hours, and fire pits for the conversations that actually matter. The whole property closes around your group, so the work — and the rest — has nowhere to leak.
Plan a Retreat
Lakemore is built for the wedding-vacation model: friends and family stay together on the property, the beach becomes the backdrop, and the celebration unfolds over days rather than hours. Intimate ceremonies of around thirty-five gather on the lawn at golden hour, with everyone you love just steps from the water. Weekend dates are offered in May, early June, and late September through October.
Ask About Wedding Weeks
Three homes mean grandparents, cousins, and kids all have a place to land — and a shared shoreline to find each other on. Birthdays, anniversaries, every-summer traditions: the kind of gathering that families plan a year out and talk about for the next ten. Many groups book the same week and simply keep coming back.
Gather Your PeopleA 395-acre all-sports inland lake, swimmable from May through October, with a private sandy beach that belongs to your group alone. Paddle out at dawn, ski in the afternoon, and watch the sun drop straight into the water every evening from a western-facing shore.

“Tricia and her team have gone overboard to create a beautiful utopia on Arbutus Lake. The houses are pristine… Everything you need, and Tricia is always there to help.”
“We rented all three properties for our intimate wedding (~26 people) in September. So beautiful, it needed very little to be ready for a backyard wedding on the lake. Highly recommend.”
“The perfect setting for our intimate wedding. Our group of 15 had so much fun many of us return annually. The houses and grounds are impeccable. Nothing at Lakemore feels like a rental — it feels like a home.”
Lakemore sits in the heart of Northern Michigan wine, water, and dune country — close enough to downtown Traverse City for dinner and a show, far enough to forget the rest.
Ten miles to the restaurants, galleries, and shops of one of the Midwest's most beloved small cities — and the TART trail network for cyclists.
The Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas, with tasting rooms and vineyards strung along two of the Great Lakes' prettiest shorelines.
The towering dunes and Lake Michigan beaches of the National Lakeshore, an easy day trip west of the property.
Miles of hiking and the Boardman Valley right at your back door — quiet trails through some of the area's most protected woodland.
Eighty-one miles of groomed snowmobile trail in winter; paddling, fishing, and hiking the rest of the year. Arbutus is a true four-season lake.
